Diamond blades for sharpening

The product does a good job of sharpening blades. Good price and ease of use. I'm not sure how long they will last. I've noticed that they wear out quicker than I'd like. I suspect it will take more use to determine lifespan. I would buy again.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not bad

Marginal best in power and hand tools

Coarse grit may last longer, but 1000 grit becomes a knife that hits bare metal too quickly. I believe that a thin layer of "glue" holding a thin layer of fine-grained industrial diamond will one day prove to be the acid test. But since a fine-grained stone is necessary to achieve the desired, sharpest final edge, without it, the remaining stones are "so what?" processed.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • New competitors are here

Great sentence! Very important.

Works as hoped. No water or oil needs to be used. Well! After a few uses I noticed wear on the roughest stone. This was to be expected. The usage costs must be justifiable. If necessary I will buy a similar set. Ouch! A very important point: they are longer than the stones that may be included in your sharpening set. You will likely need to adjust the end of the handle to accommodate these diamond "stones".

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Good but a little hard to hold

Sharpens fairly well. But they are difficult to keep. I went with them because they were a bit cheaper. I didn't even notice how narrow they are and the black holders are too wide on the sides. As your stone gets used and worn, the sides will wear down or they will be in a hole. I think time will tell. I will probably buy another style. Like a square diamond

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • I'll add later

They ended up in my bin on first use

As a professional knife maker, I would like to suggest that you take a sidewalk chalk and try to sharpen your knives with it. This is an absolute waste of money. Worst "diamond stones" I have ever used. Couldn't even sharpen one knife from the whole set as they wore out during the first 5 or 6 passes at each grit. My bevels are clean and sharp since my good stones are about 3 years old and have sharpened hundreds of knives. I decided to give it a try and see if new stones would save me anytime.

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • Damaged

Failed 3 out of 4 stones

These diamond sharpening stones came in very nice packaging and arrived on time. After putting in a 1000 grit and running it over the knife, I heard a very harsh scraping noise. Looking at the blade of the knife it looks like I used a rough 100 grit stone. Running my finger over each whetstone I can feel a sharp, raised ridge on 4 edges except 600. This burr looks like it was caused by some means of cutting the base metal into sections and the edges must be removed down to the diamonds. applied

Pros
  • Sharpening stones
Cons
  • Only available in white

Can be used on Edge Pro sharpeners

I have hundred dollar diamond stones. They are not, which is evident from the price. Like any diamond stone, they need to be broken in. It seems like even the self proclaimed experts here know nothing about it. Also, I bought them thinking I would adapt them to my Edge Pro sharpener. I was very happy that they didn't have to be modified for this use. I used this up to level 1000 on a Benchmade pocketknife. I tested this edge on a piece of printer paper and it cut, but you could tell it was…

Pros
  • Power and hand tools
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
