One of the first differences you'll notice is that it's measured in inches from the bottom of the square, not the interior intersection where the reference edge meets the 90° angle. For setting up tools I find this difference valuable and useful as I can set this square on a router table and use a ruler to set the height of the router just like a blade on a table saw. Also, on the 45° side, measurements are taken from bottom to top rather than along the length of the delta wing.

Pros
  • 90 ‹ angular accuracy } 0.1 mm / 100 mm.
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Made in China, best measuring and marking tool

Called 'Japanese Combination Square' but says 'Made in China' on the back of the box. Not sure how much better it would be if made in Japan, but this square feels good and is accurate. Made of stainless steel. Perhaps the Japanese version has better quality steel. Just a guess on my part. Four stars because not made in Japan.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

Not as accurate as expected + made in China

I thought it was a Japanese square as in Made in Japan. So I was very surprised that the square was made in China. A previous review said they were as accurate as typewriter squares (+/- 0.0002). No exit. When I compared it to my Incra Guaranteed Square, it looked odd to me. My neighbor is a retired locksmith, he helped me measure, he measured 0.007 inch which I believe is a 1/10 degree packaging specification. Square so I didn't send it back. That's about $10 more than the square of the…
