This is a really good vice. But the price is amazing. The bracket isn't quite right so when attaching it to the bench I had to secure it with some large washers to keep it perpendicular to the floor. And the jaws are a bit off so I had to use a small plane to give one of my liners a slight angle. Basically, the manufacturing tolerances are not very good. So it's a problem, but install it if you want it to be really accurate. But once installed it honestly doesn't look much different than a vise

First, good. The paint is nice and looks good. Then not so much. 1. The screw appears to be improperly tightened and will not close the vise, leaving it open about 1/2 inch. Some people put wood inserts in their vise, but I only do it when I'm doing a good job. Didn't expect to have to just close the vise 2. I bought 2 of the 8" vise vises for a workbench I built from recycled materials. The goal of my project was to build a solid bench for $100 or less, which I did. The vise is ok for the price I paid but they have some issues. First, the mounting bracket is not machined perpendicular to the jaws. So when you set up the vise it looks fine, but the vise keeps the piece of wood plumb with the bench. Why is this a problem?
