🔩 6-Inch Shop Fox D3266 Quick Release Vise Review

The concept is good but the execution is lacking. It took a long time to clean this up and get it working. Still likes to loosen with light pressure, so I usually tie the handle tight. I wish I had spent a little more on the Wilton version

When I first used this vise the cast iron lock inside the drive box broke in half, I was able to repair the damage with a 19/32 diameter 1" x 2" drill bit repair x 1/4" steel flat bar, and shape it on my mill, but if you don't have it available don't buy this vise.

Do 3 of 3 on latch mechanism failure. I read both negative reviews but ignored the warnings. The vise failed just as described after only a few weeks. Think about machining a new part or just buying a different brand. But what I like is the quick release.

I This is a great vise for the money but it looks like a cheap vise. Do not attempt to fix or adjust hysteresis issues as this will only cause jamming. I would buy another if I needed one for a quick setup on the welding table, but the fact that the slide jaw lifts up a bit and isn't parallel or perpendicular to the body means I can't trust it with high torque applications like large ones Drilling machine.
