In general, I'm impressed!

This lens is heavy and durable. The lens hood isn't removable, but since I often lose lens caps and lens hoods, that's not necessarily a bad thing. This lens is also very sharp. I've used it for astrophotography and have been amazed at the results after not playing around with it much. I already had Sigma Art lenses when I had a Nikon and am currently using this lens with a Sony ariii. Can't wait to get this to the beach with less light pollution in a few weeks to see results!

  • Part of the SIGMA ART Lens Line

Great buy if you're looking for a fast, ultra wide-angle lens

Excellent lens. Very sharp and clear at 1.4. fast af Better than any Canon L wide-angle lens I've used. 17-40 f4 and 16-35 2.8. At f/1.4, Sigma produces sharper images than f/4 and f/2.8 of Canon glass. This lens isn't for you if you're the type of person who dislikes sharp glass because it reproduces too much detail. The image quality is on par with the Sigma 35 f/1.4, 135 f/1.8 and 105 f/1.4. I'm used to holding large and heavy glass, so the weight and size don't bother me. He looks very…

Slow Autofocus on Video: Lenses

I bought this lens from another store and returned it because the autofocus was too slow. I think it's great for photography but I do video. I ran some tests and it turned out that the object that got into the frame was slow. I went back and forth to and from the lens every time it lost focus. Walk at a normal pace, he won't even catch me. Pop in the frame and just wait a bit until I finally focus. If I use it on a gimbal, the slow autofocus will be an issue. Why? Good. Crane 2 held his weight…
