I am very happy with this jacket for our 70 lb dog. It's a little thinner than expected, but the durable outer material (almost canvas-like) does a good job of keeping out the wind, and the inside is made of soft fleece to keep our dog warm. Excellent coat. The part that connects directly behind his front legs was too wide. When he became number 1 (sorry, I'm trying to be tactful) some hit that part of the jacket. I just cut off a few inches on each side to give it a little more "gap" and it worked fine. Later I removed the piping from the cut out pieces and reattached them to the raw edges of the jacket. I want to share my dog's measurements to help others find the right clothes for their dog. My dog has a 17" neck, 27" chest and 20.5" length. She weighs about 40 pounds, has a lean, athletic build and fairly barrel shaped breasts. I consider her a medium sized dog. The description always emphasized that the jacket runs small and prefers the chest measurement to others. My dog is only 33 pounds but has a deep chest (23 inches) and a small waist (16 inches). I bought the XL based on her chest but the velcro is in the CENTER of her torso and not on her chest. So she's a bit loose on most of her torso so I need to make the velcro as tight as possible.
