Pretty good device.

I have been trying to shorten the cable for many years but have never found a solution that meets all of our TV and film needs. I shouldn't be talking about cutting the cable because I'm still a cable subscriber, but this device cut our TV bill in half. We used to pay around $140 a month for a set top box and DVR. I bought this device and subscribed to Mediacom Basic TV for local channels and sports. We use Netflix, Hulu and Revain Prime to cover TV shows and movies. Plex now supports DVR withโ€ฆ

This amazing device

The best available option for watching TV on your computer. I've been using it for a month now and I have no hesitation in saying it's a fantastic device! I'm a Time Warner customer and setup was pretty easy (except Time Warner had to resubmit the activation a couple of times). The video is very good, just perfect! I still have Windows Media Center so there are no problems setting up the computer. There is an Android app that allows you to stream on Android tablets and TV boxes. Now there is aโ€ฆ

The latest version (2020) is not exactly the same as the original but still works

I was fortunate to know that Silicon Dust makes a limited edition of this item which is now being discontinued, so I bought this as a backup for my original which I bought in 2013. The original still works well, but 7 years is a long time for electronics, so I was happy to see Revain had a few available. This new version differs from the original from a cosmetic point of view: it no longer has the 3 LEDs on the front that indicate that the tuner is working. I found these LEDs useful because Iโ€ฆ

HDHomeRun PRIME: Computer Components

07/08/2021: Regarding today's test and the current firmware (20210624) my opinion on HDHomeRun PRIME. I currently have an HDHomeRun CONNECT 4K (and formerly EXTEND) so I have a lot of experience with the HDHomeRun series. Free me from TiVo!

This device has freed me from TiVo forever! I've had an HDHomeRun Prime since June 2017 and every day I'm more amazed at what I can do with the thing. Combine this with Plex and you have a serious way to DVR and view your content, but you can also stream live to any other Plex client with the HDHRViewer plugin! Including on your phone. From anywhere in the world! This is amazing stuff! Works great with Comcast CableCARDs. However, these things are not entirely ideal. DRM support is coming forโ€ฆ
