Good but not as good as Monoprice which is cheaper

I bought this speaker and also one that looks very similar. Here is Revain's link to another speaker: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B017BE4AGW?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details The two speakers look almost the same. In fact, after unpacking and comparing side-by-side, they use identical plastic mechanical frame and ceiling mount parts. But when compared side by side, the Monoprice sounded better. It is smoother at all audio frequencies and sounds less "tiny". These use poly cones while the…

GOT MORE THAN I PAID

Pleasantly surprised. For the price I paid I thought it would be ok. ok i was wrong, it was actually pretty good. I bought one to replace a Yamaha NS-IW280C because I burned out one of my Yamahas in another room and it was needed in my kitchen in that room. I didn't want to pay a lot for a speaker I had in my kitchen and rarely used, so I bought one of these. To be honest I think it could sound better than the Yamaha with more bass. I wasn't expecting it to have any bass at all, so I was…

Amazingly great sounding center

I'm a sound snob/audiophile to begin with. I use this speaker for the center channel in my family room to achieve 5.1 without detracting from the aesthetics of the room - hence the lack of a large JBL or Mirage center channel speaker. Once installed and turning on the center channel on the receiver, this speaker immediately raised the soundstage to TV level (ie above the mantelpiece). This is to be expected given it's ceiling mounted, but when it's at an angle, even 20ft backwards, it appears…

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Too long to wait

These speakers were a great upgrade from my previous speakers. I replaced some 6.5" Pyle speakers in my home theater with these 8" speakers. What a tremendous improvement in sound. Pyles couldn't handle the power output of my amp driving my front speakers. At a decent volume, they sounded terrible. These speakers keep up with my towers and sound great. I hung them from a false ceiling made of acoustic panels and reinforced them with Roxul fireproof insulation. I set the crossovers to -3dB and…

Mediocre. Micah is better.

This is normal. They sound dull and have a short range. It's in a new house, but it's the same Yamaha receiver that I had in my last house. The last house had built-in micca speakers. Maybe because the walls here were more closed than our ceiling, they sounded great. They just sounded bad with the same settings and even with the same active subwoofer. With a little adjustment to the receiver output, I was able to get them sounding "acceptable" for a TV, but the music is seriously lacking. 14ga…

Great sound, but how do you adjust the tweeter? Updated

Great sound, high performance. I don't see how to route the tweeters and there are no instructions on how to do this. Have to see how long they last. I installed an 8" center speaker, four 8" rectangular wall speakers, and two 8" round ceiling speakers in a newly finished basement. Drywall (tight top and bottom only, not sides) Added R13 insulation behind (each wall was insulated well, but the speaker cabinet sections are rotated so the pink faces the back of the speaker) For the ceiling…

Don't hesitate, buy these speakers!

I've recently moved and decided to replace my old Pioneer VSX5900S to take advantage of some new technology and complement my new 75 inch Samsung HDTV. Since I was in a new environment, I thought why not just build the system the way I really want it? After much research on in-wall/ceiling speakers, I've narrowed my choices down to an entry-level speaker, a mid-range system, and a high-end system. Since Silver Ticket's speakers had consistently high ratings, I decided to try them out with the…

Fully deserved 5 STARS.

Based on reviews from Revain I decided to try these speakers when purchasing ceiling speakers in my new home. Despite being among the cheapest in price, reviews found little to no performance issues. Installation and packaging issues are minor to me as they are easy to fix. Here's what I thought about before buying: Polk Audio System: $75/SpMicca: $41/Sp (I used to have them and liked them a lot) Monoprice: $53/SpSilver Ticket: $31/Sp I've also thought about something expensive Corner speakers…
