I bought ink instead of the Epson brand because of the prices. It didn't work because the Epson software wouldn't let me print with it. Allison from Smart Ink sent me a new box of cartridges and although I've only tried black so far it works. Allison was very helpful. I blame Epson for the problems and they disgust me. Caution! Epson has counterfeited their products to discard these cartridges, making it necessary to purchase ONLY Epson branded products. These cartridges worked fine until my printer message said it needed a firmware update. I ignored it with ease, except that the message appeared every time I wanted to type, which required the message to be bypassed. Update: I contacted the manufacturer via online chat about my unrecognizable cartridges and they immediately sent me new ones with fast delivery. I was impressed with the support I received. My printer must have received a firmware update after replacing the first two cartridges. Original: My Epson WF-2850 recognizes black and magenta cartridges, but not cyan and yellow. That does not work.

I'm glad I tried these cartridges and they are worth it. I bought original Epson and I usually only buy 212XL Black and regular colors because they are very expensive. However, I found Smart Ink at Revain with all XL colors for less money. After reading the reviews, I hesitated for a long time about buying it. The product was packaged very nicely and it was very easy to get started. The printer has not complained about using non-genuine ink even with the latest firmware. The cartridges printed a little strangely at first, and I thought that might be because they were upside down for a long time. However, it sat for a while and now prints fine. In my photo you can see the installed cartridges and they all report 100%.

Great product and excellent customer service! Epson has updated its software to prevent cartridges from other manufacturers from working with their printers. I contacted Smart Ink Support and received replacement cartridges which canceled this update within days with no questions asked. Plus, all of their inks come with a standard two-year warranty! That's incredible. Combine that with the unbeatable price and I wouldn't consider buying from anyone else. Glory to Smart Inc!
