Rugged Construction, Low RFI

I returned the Renogy charge controller because it was putting out too much RFI and completely deafening my shortwave radio. This Victron controller emits very modest amounts of radio interference that I can live with. . The build quality is absolutely top notch - everything feels like a solid piece of metal. I really miss the Renogy's LCD; I had to install a built in meter (not cheap) to see amps/watts/volts. But Bluetooth is good; I can test the controller from my phone almost anywhere in the

Works well but poor design

Good1. Very heavy fixed device2. The interface of the software is very well written and professional 3. It just works. Very generous settings compared to other devices in its Bad.1 league. The input terminals are so close together that it's very difficult to use sub-10 gauge wires without shorting them out and creating a spark, even if you're careful. I spend an hour driving my 8 gauge which is required for my layout and although I finally made it, they are so close together that I live in…

Very good customer service

Worked for a few days and I switched it off to try another solar panel and now VictronConnect can't find my 100/30 at all. I've tried all the suggestions on the Victron website but still no luck. I will try the bluetooth dongle. If that doesn't work, I'll give up and buy another brand. Update: The bluetooth dongle worked. Now 100/30 can be viewed as a device in VictronConnect. I'm increasing my stars but due to additional key cost I'm only adding two. I needed bluetooth to work in order to set…

If you don't have success at first

When my MPPT arrived I checked the installation and setup information, Victron's FAQ, read the information on the forum etc. and then proceeded to connect the MPPT to my van's house battery and then to the solar panels. The result was a screenshot from the VicrtonConnect app with a big fat zero. I've spent days troubleshooting, accepting user error, asking for help on the Victron forums, getting a few replies, but nothing has worked. Victron's troubleshooting policy for items purchased through…

Almost the best mid-range MPPT controller

Summary: I've reviewed a few MPPT controllers for Vine and while they were all decent, Victron Energy (VE) has high ratings so I decided to buy to review . My solar/photovoltaic system specifications: 1000W panels; Ship battery bank 24 V, 270 Ah (Optima); Voltworks inverter 2000W. Using the system to lower our utility bills. This review is for the 100V/50A controller, which is the second VE controller I have purchased. Observations: The first thing to note is that unlike most others, this one…
