Carefully. It has a European plug.

This product came with a European plug, not an American one. I had to buy an adapter so we could connect it. I don't see anything in the product description that mentions this fact. That sure is a problem. I am not happy.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Low volume, muffled speaker sound.

People finding these great speakers are deaf? No matter how much I do for bass or treble, they have too much bass to sound muffled and too quiet even at maximum volume. Radio, various CDs or Bluetooth with Sirius - it all sounds terrible. It was gifted to me so shouldn't complain but maybe I'm looking for other speakers to connect to? But due to the lower performance, I'm not sure I can. If not, then it will be useful.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Beautiful and affordable bookcase system

I had a similar bookcase system from Sony that lasted 18 years. The servo motor that loads and unloads CDs wears out completely in this old system. Because this device has lasted so long, I've decided to stick with the same brand. This new device was easy to set up. I will only be using it for playing CDs (although it has one or two other features) and my rating is based on that. I stress tested the device with music from Heart (Magic Man, Crazy on You), Steppenwolf (Magic Carpet Ride), and…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Sad hardware

Bad design in terms of loading times and features

Sound quality is ok. The problem is that you can't just put the CD in the tray, press play and walk away. You need to insert a CD, press "Enter" and then wait 20 seconds for the stereo to "read" the CD. a minor thing, but every stereo I've used since the mid '90s has turned itself on automatically with a simple push of a button. This awfully long delay will drive you crazy. In addition, the remote control must be pointed directly at the lens of the stereo receiver. Nothing but a perfect…

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Waiting too long

Nice little system, but SHORT speaker cables!

This is my second small Sony system. I switched to this one because the other didn't have a CD player. I love the look of these slim systems and the sound is very good, but WHY do they make them with such incredibly short speaker cables?! It's annoying - they're only about 3 feet long or a little more. They won't even reach the ends of my entertainment center as I would like to put a speaker on each "tower" of my shelving system. I need to reconnect the cables and increase the physical range of

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Read the reviews, don't buy this one, buy another Sony.

So I didn't read the latest reviews and added this to my wish list over a year ago. When the Prime Day Sale started, I jumped up. Cons: - No US plug - No headphone jack - No AM radio - Super cheap feel and light weight - It's super shiny and the handle looks like a disco ball which you can't see in the pictures. (Maybe it's on your pro list? Not mine.) Pros: - I haven't tried to figure out what it sounds like. Then no. I have a slightly larger version of this CMTSBT100 device and it is a…
