Not the best option for stereo.

Manhole. First of all, the stereo on the car looks good. The light and sound are excellent, but there's a terrible problem when you plug in an MP3 player. Why?: After playing an iPod or Nano for an hour and a half, the stereo system overheats and the MP3 device switches off. The radio's power adapter gets very hot and the device cannot withstand high internal temperatures. So the workaround is to get rid of the stereo and use the stereo AUX port to connect your iPod or iPod Nano. So if you have

Very stylish and affordable unit

I only installed this item for a day so this is more of a first impression than a full review. A Sony 300BTX was purchased to replace the original radio/CD in a 2003 Ford F-150. The two main reasons for the switch were listening to Audible content without an FM station (don't worry) and being able to use the iPhone hands-free. So far it has fully met these requirements. The only downside is that there is no DIN connection for universal use of the MP3 player. Many of Sony's earlier devices had…

Great innovation at a low price

Sony DSXS210X Digital Media Receiver with Pandora Streaming Quick and easy overview: This is a great innovation from Sony. My iPods 64g and 160g fit and work perfectly and mix better in Sony than when working alone. The adapter I bought made it easier to fit into my VW Eurovan. This Sony device picks up the Bluetooth signal in my Samsung phone with no problem. Can be a bit tricky/difficult to remember the buttons for all functions as they are not intuitive even with the manual. However, that's…

Great main digital music device

I really like this device. Or maybe it's just because I feel like the Sony guys when operating the device - I don't know. I installed the unit in my jeep in about 5 minutes using the universal wiring harness adapter. I connected my iPod to the Tune Tray and was scrolling through album titles in seconds. It takes a few seconds to "read" the iPod, which is understandable given that it contains around 40GB of music. It was easy for me to adjust the equalizer; First I used the Gravity preset and…

Beware of Galaxy SII Bluetooth issues - otherwise a 5 star product

This device is excellent; My phone is not compatible. If you have a Galaxy SII and possibly other Android phones and want to stream Pandora or other digital media from your phone, you'll likely be disappointed. The phone works great for about 10-15 minutes and then completely reboots (turns off then back on) and disables bluetooth. I searched the net for a solution and couldn't find any. However, it has been found that many people with Sony players have faced the same problem. and Galaxy…

  • Easy to read control panel

  • Annoying

This is a very decent radio for the price. The sound is a bit flat, and if I were to put one of these in my other car, I'd definitely have to find a way around that annoying "beep reminder beep" that Sony puts on all of their head units. it was easy to install. My standard deck was double din so I bought an OEM bag and wire harness which made everything plug and play. I spent more time setting up the equalizer than setting up the stereo. Bluetooth works great with my Android phone, it just…

Good concept, good sound, pretty bad grip

My previous main unit finally died after a slow, annoying death. I've come to the conclusion that I only need a line input and preamp outputs. . That's all I need for my iPod Touch. My system doesn't need a head unit for amplification and I no longer use CDs or listen to the radio. I chose this more expensive model because I wanted BT integration. I moved to California and it is illegal to drive with a non-hands-free phone. It also had a nicer display. The device has many settings. I only use a

Incredible buy if you have an iPod and don't like clutter

Well I'll admit I was tempted to buy a car radio without a CD. I love CDs and I think the sound quality is better than playing a digital file every day, but in the end I went for it as I rarely use CDs in my car anyway and only use iPod (I have a slightly older model, an iPod with 60 GB of video). I liked this sound because it meant I didn't have to run cables to and from the stereo everywhere, everything would be nice and clean inside the unit. And that's exactly what it is. Beautiful, clean…

Great stereo system, joystick is awkward to use

I switched to this product from Sony MEX BT2500. Damn what a difference in sound quality (although it's also 4 stars and theoretically has the same 52 x 4 output). What's good: - Sound quality. Wow, what a dent from my old piece of junk. I should have made this transition 2 years ago. There is absolutely no reason why I stuck with my old system. - Internal USB, External USB: Very nice. Connect the USB stick from the outside, plug in the iPod - done. I gave up CDs when I switched to a MacBook…
