Easy to use; Excellent quality

This is the first voice recorder I have ever used (except for the microphone on my MP3 player) and I have to say I am very happy with this product. I even failed to figure out the settings without a manual - basically I started it initially with a manual in my hands. The instructions are very well written. It covers everything in easy to understand yet clear instructions for each function. The Getting Started section definitely got me started and also excited about how useful this device would…

Pros
  • 2GB Flash
Cons
  • Useless features

Works great - until it stops working

First bad news - the recorder died. Yes, I carried it in my pocket when snowshoeing, but it didn't get wet and both the digital camera and cellphone survived. I've also seen other reports that this model suddenly stopped working. I'll give him ventilation (sometimes bringing wet phones back to life), but I think he's dead. If it was moisture damage or shock, the phone and non-waterproof digital camera just about survived. It says nothing about reliability or simplicity. Assuming you are luckier

Pros
  • Podcast ready - records in MP3 format, no conversion required
Cons
  • Almost never

(4/5) Best choice for notes

I bought this recorder because it was significantly cheaper than the professional digital recorders I was considering. First of all, I can assure you that when choosing between the ICD-BX800 and this ICD-PX820, you should definitely choose this model. It has the important ability to connect to a computer via a USB cable to store the recordings you need. My main purpose of this recorder is to take notes in class. I first tried using this recorder in LP mode (Longplay mode) and the playback was…
