Spectre Performance 42273 Ford F-Series Chrome Alternator Bracket including Bolts Review

Weld broke with little or no use. I bought it a year ago but the car was under construction. When setting the generator to start the car, he collapsed. That's why he must be so much cheaper than Mr. Gasket.

Good quality. Holds alternator in place and straight so belt is properly aligned and does not come loose. Neat metal. The chrome is good, not perfect, but after installing the alternator not much of a bracket is visible. If you don't have an OEM mount or use connectors, this is a great solution.

When tightening the bolts included on the alternator bracket (42273) to the cylinder head bracket, one of the bolts sheared. Upon further inspection, these bolts turned out to have a metric property class of 4.8. For a bolt of this size (17mm head heat) I would expect a much stronger bolt (grade 8.8 or 10.8). Note. I broke this with basic hand tools (two wrenches) rather than a percussion gun. If the screws are weak enough to break, I worry about the durability of the rest of the product!
