These sponges were individually wrapped and flattened to less than 1/2 inch thick. They expand quickly when opened. I used a sponge with a bucket of soapy water to clean a very dirty piece of patio furniture. The sponge worked well / held the foam well. It could be thrown away after first use, probably because the furniture was metal with lots of details and edges.

These sponges were vacuum packed and were approximately 1/4 inch thick when packaged. We've been waiting for them to expand to 2 inches as advertised, but they never got bigger than 1 and 1/8 inches. This of course makes them more prone to tearing and not absorbent enough for the big jobs we planned them for. They are actually twice as small as expected. The only reason we haven't returned them is it's quite a hassle as I'm disabled and don't drive, so hopefully we'll find another use for them.

I'm not sure everyone has a problem with these sponges. I received them and they were quite flimsy in the packaging, but when I soaked them for even 5 minutes they expanded dramatically. I make asmr sponges and they are perfect for this purpose. The absorbency is good, they are 2 inches or more thick and fairly durable.
