This is my third La Sportiva shoe and I like it the best

This is my third La Sportiva shoe and I like it the best. Lightweight, with excellent lateral support, adequate arch support, stable and fun. Can't confirm how they wear as I've only ridden them about 50 miles. I've marked this as slightly small because the width is narrow which is perfect for my feet that claim to be a B width in a dress shoe. The length is as expected. I especially like the lacing, because I can adjust the fit individually. My other La Sportivas use a single tension system…

Fantastic trail shoes

This is my third pair of La Sportiva mutants. I've worn them many long distances, including traveling through the Grand Canyon and back (R2R2R), and never had any hot spots of chafing or discomfort. They have great, maybe the best outside grip that has never let me down.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

One of the best trail running shoes on the market

The Mutant shoe is very similar to the old C-Lite, which means a glove-like fit that's adjustable, snug, and cushioned for use on the trail as well as on the Street runs great but front bumper designed much better. It's very sticky with an aggressive profile, so it's also great for scree running, boulder jumping, or scree climbing. The high collar keeps sand out, while the overlapping tongue lacing system wraps your foot perfectly. Another plus is the neutral feel and outsole flexibility to let

Ideal for fast runs on soft ground

Exceptional trail shoe. Like all La Sportiva, the Mutants are small, although this is partly due to the conversion from euros to US sizes. However, in the US I am a size 12-12.5 and with Mutant and Akasha I found that a size 47 fits me perfectly and has enough room for my toes and Bushido also fits me perfectly at 47. Well worth the effort, once I figured out the sizing these shoes were a dream come true. They fit like gloves but don't cramp my fingers. They are suitable for the midfoot run and

These rock best in shoes

It's been about a month. I bought them to walk, jog, bike etc (so wear every day). They are very comfortable, I leave them laced relatively loose and can slide my foot in no time. The only downside at the moment is that the small tabs on the back have ripped off, I think from pulling too hard. I might cut them off as I feel like they aren't needed anyway just by inserting the foot. Overall great arch support and very comfortable. Will most likely buy the same pair when/when they wear out. I…

Runs small best for men

Shoes (finally) fit great. I love the grip and my foot is really locked. Not much padding around the heel, but too much padding seems to float my foot too much, leading to hot spots and blisters. I ended up ordering three pairs that fit. In any case, the conformity assessments from Revain and La Sportiva were wrong for me. I'm a full size above what I wear in my boots and "regular" street shoes.

  • Many fit

  • Some difficulties

Great running shoes!

The shoes were a full US size too small. I missed a few reviews that mentioned this so I had to return the first pair. When I picked up the size I really liked the way they sit on the foot. Fits snugly to the foot with plenty of room around the toes.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • I'm nervous

Men's Excellent Grip

Excellent grip in a variety of conditions from mud to gravel to slippery rocks. Mutants even get along well with traffic. Great trail shoe.

The best OCR shoes I've ever had. The best all-round shoe I've ever had.

I've been looking for good but not great OCR shoes since my Inov8 285 blew up this year. If Inov8 continued to make Roclite 285s I would buy a few more. I've tried a few Icebug Zeals. These are fantastic shoes and I would choose them but they are too narrow. Good for short distances but damn if I go over 5 miles. If they were suitable, I would never have found mutants. So glad the Icebugs didn't fit. I bought the Mutants for fun, I had a pair of La Sportiva Wildcats for a couple of years that I
