Through trial and error, I found that the angle of the sharpener made it difficult to use for lefties. The color was nice and the product seems durable, but it simply wasn't practical.

If your left hander has already learned how to use a traditional sharpener then don't worry. It's uncomfortable and flat doesn't work well. He looks very cheesy and fragile. Stabillo usually makes a great product, but this isn't one of them.

I'm not left handed so for what it's worth when I tried the sharpener the ends weren't smooth. However, the pencils were decently sharp. Not sure I like the short "short" look (see photo), but it could be more effective. To give it as a gift I was hoping it would have a package showing how to use it and why it is special. While it's good that there was no unnecessary packaging, it was frustrating to receive the sharpener in a box with no protection. I look tough so that's a plus. I checked it…
