Description of STANLEY 0 33 720 Metric Fatmax Measure: Efficient Precision for Accurate Metric Measurements

The extra wide blade on these tapes gives up to longer stand outs and enables easier reading. The exclusive cushion grip gives extra user control and provides impact resistance and the specially designed multi-function hook grabs on the side, top and the bottom. The 3-rivet, corrosion resistant, tru-zero hook allows accurate inside and outside measurements. Mylar wrapped coating extends the blade life up to 10 times longer. Size: 5 metre (metric only).

This is a tape measure. Period

Try finding a metric tape measure at Lowe's or Home Depot. you will not. This is the same quality Fat Max Stanley tape I've used for years, but in metric measurements. And I ONLY wanted a tape measure.

Pros
  • Measuring and Marking Tools
Cons
  • Expensive

locking lever stubborn

I was glad to finally get my hands on a metric tape measure. It amazes me how difficult it is to find metric tools in the United States. I have used Stanley Powerlock straps for over twenty years and have always found them reliable and durable. The Fat Max band is a bit awkward to hold, doesn't fit very well in my tool bag, and the locking lever works stubbornly. I'm going to leave this because I need a metric band, but I wish this band had a powerlock version.

Pros
  • tape measure
Cons
  • fragile

America: Note that the metric is better.

US carpenter here later. It's much easier to finish the job and make the cabinet with a metric tape measure. Smaller scale, more precision. It's also much easier to calculate with decimals than with fractions. ALSO: The most common maximum length of material I work with is 16 feet. Regular 16 foot FatMax tapes (and more recently their Craftsman counterparts) don't really read up to a full 16 feet. It gets tight at 15ft and the spring keeps them from pulling further than about 15ft 6" without…
