Worst roulette I've ever had.

I figured more would be better when I ordered the FatMax. You would think that a blade almost 1 1/4 inches wide would be pretty tough. However, when the blade is in a vertical position, such as up to a line on a wall, the blade tips over and collapses, expanding only a few feet. Today I tried to measure 10 feet to the bottom edge of the siding while standing on a ladder. After repeated attempts, I couldn't get the Fat Max to lay flat and grab the bottom edge of the siding. I have an old tape…

Pros
  • Added BladeArmor coating increases the strength of the line on the hook and extends its life**
Cons
  • Repair

This is the king of tape measures! I bought it knowing it was made in the USA! Here are a few facts about Stanley that I found interesting. In 1931, Stanley introduced the first steel tape measure. In 1999, Stanley introduced Fat Max Roulette. These roulettes are made better than any other roulette maker. I have other roulettes and the difference is obvious. I heard Stanley Roulette got better 10 years ago. I believe so, but they are still made in the USA and are of above average quality in my…

He knows exactly the difference between 6 " and 12 " ;-)

I received this on 6th July 2018 (4 months ago) to replace a previous Stanley tape Bought . a measure I have had for many, many years. So far I am very satisfied with this roulette. I didn't have any tip breaking issues like some of the other reviewers. Also, I like the wide range of colors on this one more than on my previous version. I like being able to stretch it before the band bends. This is useful when I'm trying to measure some things myself because there's no one around to help me. I…

Pros
  • Easy to read sizes with large font numbers
Cons
  • Available in white only

The old grandmother is not the same as before.

Not technically the Fat Max Band Stanley used a few years ago. I used to be able to get 3 months from older versions. I can use these for 3 weeks to 2 months. It depends if I'm working indoors, what time of year it is, etc. Here in Seattle, the jobs tend to be sandy and wet. In such conditions, I can work on this simplified version for about a month. Look, I know they're trying to save money or raise the price of a tape, but Stanley should have thought better of it. 10 years ago I could get by…

Pros
  • Polyester Mylar extends the life of the entire blade
Cons
  • Crease

Garbage. Broken after 2 years of little use

Bought 2 years ago. It has hardly been used as it is much bulkier than my OLD 12ft stanley tape. I wanted something when I needed to measure long distances, and I also wanted something with a stiffer band. Ironically, I also wanted something heavier. Unfortunately, I've only used the Fat Max 6-12 times in the two years I've owned it because it was too big to fit in the outside compartment of my tool box, so it ended up in the bottom bucket of the box. which was less quick and easier to grasp…

Pros
  • 11 inch tape; 16" and 19.2" center marks make it easier to frame
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
