Complete and Complete Scrap

Whether you are an experienced installer or a first time installer. Don't do that crap, sorry Stan. But it is a poor quality product that does not work and is relatively difficult to work with. It doesn't stick, it's prone to air bubbles, it's too stiff to work properly, and it's virtually useless to sell as a main product. ZERO stars. Whether you do your research and follow their videos on T. it doesn't work.

Pros
  • Sturdy Construction
Cons
  • Insecure

I spent so much money to reinstall it on the same wheelset. Eventually I broke down and only used the pieces to cover each spoke hole as I kept getting little wrinkles that could cause leaks. Edit: I've now used two casters and even rubbed alcohol on the wheels before applying the tape. actually stick to the rim. Totally useless.

Your results may vary.

I heard good things about this product so I bought it. I've built and rebuilt many sets of MTB wheels, but I've never used this particular Stan product. After 3 failed attempts I just gave up, I couldn't get this product to stick to the wheel. I was so confident that I was using the tape correctly that I found several videos confirming my installation method was correct. I gave up. BE CAREFUL WHO YOU BUY FROM! I tried to return and was refused because it was done by a third party. Now I'm stuck

Prevents no leakage even with two coats. The Black Gorilla band did it.

Although this brand is the de facto standard and priced to match, I found it difficult to work with and after two attempts, cleaning with alcohol and drying the rim, it worked before anyone never without going through the spokes and even the seam of the rim. I used a caliper to make sure I had the right width and I did. The black gorilla tape you mention in the posts really works. I have a bit lying around, but I've decided to spend more on Stans. In my case it didn't cost any money. The…

Difficult to use. No stretch.

Like the others mentioned I had problems with this tape as well. Adhesion is fine, it should be pressure sensitive so it only sticks when pressure is applied. However, the tape does not stretch and therefore it is very difficult to adapt it to the shape of the rim. I've used it to tape my tubeless carbon cyclocross rims, but the tape creases, blisters underneath and doesn't hold pressure at first. These creases and bubbles take up space in the center channel of the rim, making tire installation

Feels like hard and thin tape

After 2 years of hoses the green slime hoses I was using finally ran out of gunk to stop another leak (snake bite from a new curb concrete pavement) in a to seal tires, so I went tubeless. I chose this material because it was relatively cheap and it was delivered within 3 days. It took me a while to figure out how to install this tape. The best way I've found is to lay it down and keep the roll 2-3 inches apart when pressed. press down firmly with thumb and slide along the inside of the rim 1/4

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Almost ok

Will not stick to rim

After the rim was cleaned with denatured alcohol, dried completely and wiped with a clean, dry cloth, Stan's No Tubes rim tape did not stick to the rim. He barely stayed to himself. I put it back in the package and intend to request a refund. I went to one of the local auto parts stores and bought a roll of Gorilla Tape. It fits the rim perfectly. Time will tell how well I sealed it, but it looks like it's not sealed well. Now I understand that it is non-refundable. I think I just spent $13.50…

Wide range of tape for your tubeless conversion

I originally tried Gorilla Tape as a rom tape for converting to tubeless with no success. I was unable to get the correct width or coverage for my rim width (19mm inner diameter). The bolt holes may have been sealed, but I couldn't get the bead to fit snugly enough against the rims to inflate and sit down. I bought Stan's Yellow spoke tape (21mm) and got it right on the first try. don't count). This allows you to leave a couple/three mm of overhanging rim on both sides for the tire bead. You…

Worked great for me

A bit surprised by the negative reviews and it got me thinking about using Stans tape. But I bought it as it was the only rim tape I could deliver the next day. I have a set of Stans Arch MK3 tubeless bikes that were already tubeless ready when I bought them 2 years ago. After recently bursting my fatigue I put on a new tire but I kept losing air. Noticing it was leaking through the spoke holes, I took the tire off and found that the existing rim tape had snapped in a couple of places (I think…

Pros
