Bad product description on this

Bad product description on this. Not exactly what I wanted, but it could work with some tweaks. Certainly not like Starrett.

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • Disappearance

Free as a goose: measuring and marking tools

Came to me free as a goose. I don't know who uses it for precision, but it's junk out of the box. I had to clamp it down and fill it with epoxy. I will not buy for my colleagues.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Basically OK, but...

As per other reviews: Schreiner's angle

As per other reviews I found this product to be a bit disappointing in the quality department. I would refer to these reviews if you need more information, they really all say the same thing. It doesn't scream the classic Starrett quality you'd expect.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • No instructions

Not worth $1 in the Measuring & Marking Tools category

Not a very good square. Cheap and feels crappy when you pick it up (very different from Starrett). Worst of all, the outside edges were uneven by several thousand. Invest in a REAL Starrett when you demand excellence in your work. You may not sell this tool under your own name.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Very durable good for measuring and marking tools

I wish I could say I am very careful with my tools but I end up tossing them in the studio and casually tossing them in a bag full of others hard tools - that's what I did with this square, but miraculously it held up very well. After a few weeks of heavy use, I'm still taking consistent measurements. Very durable and well worth the price.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Nice square but as I said

Nice square but as I said it doesn't seem to be quality. The rule goes a bit beyond the last gradation, which seems like the quality is not checked properly. It's square, but the thin grip makes it uncomfortable to use anything other than the sharp, wide edges. I'm giving it three stars because the Starrett name can't overcome the cheap feel it has. I feel kind of betrayed. Guess too good to be true, the price really was too good to be true.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Will do
