📏 Starrett KTXP106 16 N Measuring Graduation 0 0625Mm: Precision Measurement Tool for Accurate Results Review

I can't get enough of this band. It's bulky, doesn't feel good in the hand, falls off too easily, and the unsupported tape's reach isn't that great either. Although I love many of Starrett's tool offerings and many of them are worth every extra penny spent. This band is out of this league.

I am a professional carpenter and have tried MANY tape measures. This one is my favourite. I had two smaller red versions of the 16" Starrett. I liked this version but the tape went slack after about 5 feet. This one stays stiff much longer and has a smooth locking mechanism. I also have the 25 foot version but I prefer to wear it on your belt as it is much lighter and less bulky.

Starrett is known for being "Made in America" with high standards of precision. They lowered the cost and started manufacturing them abroad. It was a replacement due to losing one I bought a few years ago. Very disappointed with what is currently being produced. The clip on the back is terrible. It's now cut on an angle at the bottom so if it bends when attached to something it will tend to fall off of what it was attached to. The real killer now is the curvature of the measuring blade. It's…
