Very surprised by the negative reviews and complaints from iMac owners about the 720p limit. Mine was a week ago, between the FIOS cable box and a 27" iMac mid 2010 and it works really well. I'm using a Clevo 740su laptop with Ubuntu 15.10. It has a 1.2 mini display port and 1.3a HDMI ports. I have 3 HP ZR30W 2560x1600 monitors at home that I plan to use with this laptop. I connected two monitors to the mini display port using the Startech MSTMDP122DP and bought this to connect a third to the HDMI port (which happily drives my 4K panel at the office). Pros: Arrived in the box with a 12" USB extension cable - which was a nice touch. Easy to connect, Ubuntu recognized it immediately.

I bought a new graphics card for my PC. Thought it comes with displayport output. I was wrong. Only HDMI and DVI.
