I'm using this with a Samsung Series 7 tablet (Windows PC) and connecting it to a standard large monitor. Love it. Now I don't need a connector socket/dock port because I just glue things to the side. This means I don't have to put the computer to sleep to remove it from the base. Just pull out the side cords and I'll go anywhere. This works great and is way better than the adapter type (which didn't work for me at all). I also like it because it takes some pressure off the cord and connector.

I wanted to connect my Microsoft Surface RT to an HDTV. It was the perfect solution and I thought the price was reasonable. It also looks durable. Update: I saw a question somewhere about whether it will stream audio from Surface RT to HDTV. I tested again today and there were no issues with Netflix audio and audio streaming. Adapter does what it's supposed to. It's well built and the connections are neat. I actually have different adapters, this one and one with no cable length between the two ends. While both get the job done, I find this one to be better due to the short cable length between ends. If you connect an HDMI cable that has resistance in the cable, it may put some pressure on the small HDMI mini connector. I am using this on a Samsung Series 9 Subnotebook which has a micro HDMI port. I already had an HDMI to DVI cable that was used on a previous laptop; a nice thick cable (it turns out you need thicker cables to convert HDMI to DVI). I tried one of those thin cable HDMI to DVI dongles (Micro HDMI to HDMI), but the quality (or lack thereof) of the dongle and thin HDMI cable meant it didn't work properly at all.
