Curious why I used it for 6 months? Only pulled the boat half a dozen times. Do you think a new starter will bring me some tears?

Fairly easy installation. Got the starter. I also changed the solenoid. The engine started once, then the starter wouldn't turn on. Got a better quality starter and installed it and now my engine runs like a champ. Was busy and missed the return deadline by a few days which is my fault.

I installed it and the engine started right away. I turned it off and tried again and everything was fine. On the third try, the flywheel did not turn. I've tried many times and it won't turn on. So I removed it and put my old starter back in. At least I could always start the engine with my old starter. I have no faith in this POS from China.

I bought this starter a year ago. It installed perfectly. However, last week I pulled the boat out for the first time this year and the starter motor has jammed. I even oiled the bendix before pulling the boat out as instructed. I had to dismantle the boat on shore and remove the starter. I have found that the rubber spacer between the pinion and the pinion base compresses too much, allowing the base to move over the helical windings on the armature shaft.
