Worth the money to get the job done quickly cheaper than time in store

The tool did what was easy to do. It is recommended to attach the tube at the end so you can lean on your shoulder when there is no convenient place to hit the frame. With a 22mm 3/4 drive socket, I unscrewed the bolt in just a few minutes. Installed a Dayco harmonic balancer because Dorman had bad reviews.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Reliability

Tool works after replacing small screws with stronger ones

Used tool on EJ22, had to use smaller screws with adapter, screws were weak and soft, had to switch to 8.8 grade screws, size m7 1, 0 x 40mm Found them at Home Depot, once I made the tool it worked amazing, leave the bolts a little loose until you connect the tool to the crank pulley and then tighten, it will work.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Unsafe

Holds the pulley

Used to hold the crank pulley on a 2005 Saab 9-2x with a 2.5 liter engine. Worked great. There were no instructions but after looking at the parts that came with it and the pulley on the motor it was pretty obvious that I just needed to use big bolts and a simple tool on this motor. The rubber pad at the end of the handle is not too tight, slipped a bit when pulling the reel, but not critically.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Some issues

What I needed Good for tools and equipment

This tool arrived today. It was easy to assemble, easy to use. I put it on my girlfriend's '99 Subaru Outback harmonic balancer, combined with the tight ratchet, socket and overly long ratchet tube, I was able to easily remove the harmonic balancer. We tried unscrewing this screw for several days prior to purchasing this instrument, but we just couldn't hold the harmonic balancer. With this tool we can do just that. By the way, it looks like it has an adapter for Volkswagen models with a…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Does as advertised but could use better hardware.

Did what I needed to do, removed the crankshaft pulley and returned it to my 2008 Outback XT. But as others have reported, my locking bolts were bent. Which made it difficult to reuse when installing the pulley. I ended up using a hammer to straighten the studs for the second half of the job. Will probably try to replace them locally somewhere. Would recommend any potential buyer to do the same before even using it. Cheap screws and virtually no instructions other than the obvious ones.

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Screws DO NOT bend - works great on a 15 year old Impreza

Decided to give the remedy a try. The tool came with fairly strong screws. Before using the tool, just to be careful, I went to Lowe's and tried to find screws that were the same size but stronger. It turns out that Lowes only has bolts of the same size and strength. Lowe's staff told me it was for automotive use. And Lowe's bolts were $4 each, so I gave up. At home I used the tool with its screws on my Impreza 05. The crankshaft pulley bolt was rusty and frozen like hell. I applied several…
