Drop forged Brass Head is spark resistant; absorbs impact and reduces damage on surface being hit; can be used safely in combustible environments. Head is pinned and epoxied to handle to prevent head coming off. Hammer Head Weight - 2lbs.

Hammer time!: Power tools and hand tools

Looks huge in the picture. Really great for oil field work where sparks can kill. Perfect size, density and great grip. Banging on joints and stuck valves.

Hard tool on hand tools

Great little hammer, well built, strong. I haven't used it much, but you can tell it's just what you need for pounding hardened shafts and punches with a big ol' rapping and steel hammer. Love it.

The handle breaks easily

I had 3 of these, one I bought myself and two I got from my company. ALL handles break before the brass head is almost worn out. I think the 3lb head is too heavy for the handle design flaw. I know others have had the same issue with this hammer.
