Not upgraded from cheaper models/low flow

My plumber installed a much cheaper product that works most of the time but I thought it was an upgrade. With this product, the flow rate in my kitchen sink was much slower. After trying this product I switched back to another company's $6 version and it worked much better. I also emailed and called the company. You didn't answer my letter. When I called them they said to email me and I would get a response within a day. That didn't happen. save your money

Pros
  • Provides venting to prevent loss of water seals in siphons; uses gravity to automatically close the seal and prevent odors from circulating in the bathroom or down the drain
Cons
  • Very expensive

Easy as pie. There was a stinky smell coming from under the kitchen sink and apparently the old range hood was to blame. It probably hasn't changed since the house was built. I took it off and yes it's quite dirty, there are a lot of nasty colors and stains inside. It took me 5 minutes max to unscrew the old one and screw this new one in and voila, I haven't had any bad smells under the sink since and our disposal and dishwasher seem to work better as a result. . Awesome and easy to fix. goes…

Pros
  • Compact inlet valve with PVC adapter
Cons
  • unreliable

Highly recommend this item

Works as expected. The old one came from the house and was intended for the drain line of the washing machine. The drain continued to decrease. I lengthened the drain but couldn't push it far enough. Tried water bladder and jet nozzle - without success. In the evening I tried Draino Gel. Another safeguard when using the washing machine. Eventually gave up and called a plumber. He removed the old Studor Vent and the washing machine drained with no problems. He offers to buy it from Revain…
