Useless timer. It's not even remotely accurate

For a while we had elderly guests who preferred to boil eggs every morning. They like timing their eggs with this type of timer. Although this timer looks just like the old fashioned ones, the time displayed is far from accurate. If the timer is set to go past the last 45 minutes and then rolls back to the desired time, there's only a long way to go. For example, if properly set to 5 minutes, the call actually picks up about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes before the end of the 5 minute period. It then…

Won't last. Don't waste money!

Lasted less than 4 months I rarely use it for timing cakes and cookies, grilled steaks, etc. Things that need timing. My last use was for cookies. I set the timer for 12 minutes and went to wash, got distracted and never heard the bell. Because he didn't call. The biscuits are of course burnt. This was the only timer we bought four years ago that didn't work!

In 2017 we bought three or four other timers together to do a real comparison test as the timers became unreliable after several store bought timers failed within a few months of purchase . It's the only one that has lasted over a year... and it's still working after daily use in our kitchen! So shall we buy another one? We'd certainly do it if we had to... but we're not doing it yet! (Actually I'll be writing reviews of other timers that have failed. Ugh. We even had one shaped like a lemon…
