🛶 Yellow Suspenz Folding Kayak Rack, 16.5" x 15 Review

THIS FOLDING HOOK WAS PURCHASED TO LOCATE MY KAYAK ON THE SIDE OF THE STORAGE BUILDING FROM THE GROUND. IT WORKS GREAT AND IT IS EASY TO REMOVE THE KAYAK FOR USE AND THEN PUT BACK IN.

Goes great with my 10ft Bali Sun Dolphin ss. They also fold up when the kayak is not adjusted. Wouldn't buy anything else. Make sure you mount it on studs and don't even worry about using anchors.

The rack itself works as expected. The folding feature allows space to be used when the kayaks are used in the warmer months and quickly becomes storage for the cooler months. Please note that the included screws can be easily removed. I recommend using wood screws to attach the rack to the wall and using heavier gauge drywall inserts that expand towards the back of the drywall for a stronger effect.

They were a bit disappointing. I have found that the ability to fold the racks actually makes loading the kayaks very difficult. I have two sets and ended up threading the bolts through one of the top ones so I could load one end of the kayak and then pivot the other in place after lifting the kayak over the swingarm. When trying to load the kayak with both moving hands it was almost impossible because when we slide the stand it leans to the side and doesn't pick up the kayak.

Great product, does what it's supposed to do. The reason it got 4 stars is because the anchors they give you for drywall use are the worst. They immediately detached from the wall, leaving a large hole (and that was in 5/8 inch drywall). The reason you need to use anchors is because the holes in the mount are far enough apart that you can't fit them both into a standard 2x4. These stands are very strong and easy to assemble. The instructions included were clear. Their folding feature is great and allows us to fold our kayaks a little tighter than usual. Hooks are great and inexpensive. Fixing screws are rubbish, soft and easy to remove. We're talking about stripping with the right size bit in a drywall anchor. I ended up using the 3" Spax decking screws I had and they worked great. If you buy this I just plan to ditch the cheap screws/anchors and use my own. I bought this kayak holder to mount my AIRE Super Lynx kayak on my garage wall. I agree with other reviewers that the brackets are not designed to screw into 2x4 wall studs. You can put one screw in the stud but not the other. I had to make two brackets from 2x4 and use screws to attach them to the studs.
