This is a high quality spool of vinyl covered steel cable. I got it because I am a licensed HAM radio operator and I will use it as a random length end-fed antenna. Steel cable is much better than copper for long radio antennas because it is much stronger and less prone to breaking or stretching. The bonus "gift" items are crimp connectors for making loops in the cable. I have a squirrel-proof bird feeder that works well but rain water travels down the supporting cable and spoils the feed. I…

Pros
  • Cable & Wire Rope
Cons
  • High Friction

Works great for stringing garden lights

Since garden lights cannot support their own way to not stretch I picked this up to run in our social area around the fire pit. They worked absolutely great. I used a stainless washer at the end of the loop to run into a lag so I can attach it to the tree and retention as necessary. The amount of weight it can hold was perfect and it didn't sag at all once I had it tensioned. It was a little tough to cut it, I tried several wire cutters as well as tin snips and they all had a hard time. I…

Pros
  • Difficult to cut pieces but if you have proper tools you'll be ok.
Cons
  • Difficult to Cut

Seems like fine cable, meets expectations

I've been using this for hanging paintings and stuff on the wall. It's been super easy. Cut to length, slip on the sleeve, and bang with a hammer. I find the hammer easier to use than the crimper. The cable itself seems to be about the same quality as the 1/16" cable available at the big box home improvement store. The spool it came on is sweet. I'm saving that spool for some kind of reuse.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Difficult to Store

Steel wire rope for my opinion

I needed to replace a rubber cord that was used to hold together wooden slats in a garden walkway. The rubber was broken in multiple places. It was easy to thread the wire through the slats and it seems to be strong enough to not break after a few years like the rubber cord. I used the supplied crimp things to secure the ends.

Pros
  • 96 lb Working Load Limit
Cons
  • This wire rope is not suitable for a variety of uses due to its high tensile strength and inflexibility

Great quality and durability

Eventually I'll need more crimping tubes but this is great wire and I'm using it for displaying my paintings at art festivals.

Pros
  • Worked for my purposes and appears to be good wire.
Cons
  • This product is quite heavy, making it difficult to handle and transport
