Time will tell how durable it is but it fitted perfectly and was easy to install. Don't repeat my mistake. After installing and trying to open the trunk, it does not open. I looked at the whole part, compared it to my old part and almost came to the conclusion that I had a bad part. Then I thought about blocking, I switched it to blocking mode. After I switched to unlock, the tailgate opened. Everything I needed and a great price.

Great quality for the price!

I bought this unit after buying some cheap pens on ebay. These cheap pens really didn't hold up over time, they had issues with weak plastic and poor durability, and were very brittle. But this pen exceeded my expectations! I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra. I really wasn't expecting more than ebay. But this pen is solid! Very well done. Much better than the ones I bought on ebay. I highly recommend this grip if you are looking for a replacement for your truck. Don't forget to spray the entire…

Used it to replace a broken works car on my wife's little used truck.

Toyota's design here is not that good and over time this part will fail. This part fits and works well but does not appear to be of the OEM quality that was hoped for. The texture of the black plastic, the weight and the feel of the item were not very good. He does his job, but doesn't even try to get better, just rolls by with the words "this will pass". I was hoping for an Honors trunk handle but got a three with a minus. I remember having to reuse the OEM latch part when installing because…

great inexpensive replacement!

This was a great replacement for my old latch that finally stopped working on my Tundra 01. Can't comment on durability as I've only just installed it, but can't tell what the difference is between this latch and my old one. As others have pointed out, the replacement was very easy, including moving the lock core. I would recommend spraying all exposed moving parts like the lock core and latch with some WD-40. This made everything work like new again. I've attached a picture of the replacement…

Exact replacement for my 2006 Tundra Double Cab

Trunk handle arrived in 2 days. It was exactly as described. Installation was very easy, all you need is a T30 size torx to remove 8 screws on the inner tailgate cover and then a 10mm socket to remove the 2 screws holding the tailgate handle in place and hold position. To replace the key locking mechanism, all you need is a flat head screwdriver to take out the metal clip that holds it to the original handle and then insert it into the new handle in the same way and then snap the clip to hold…

UPDATE: The product was still in a usable fragment and it was probably an error installing emd. I put the cranks in the slots and had to pull them out to adjust the part. The slots were still intact so I figured they were fine. I removed the rear cover from the tailgate to get access to the handle again and found the passenger tie bar had slipped out of the clip. Again, I probably had to pull it out once it was in place. I am now giving this product the correct rating because I believe it is my

The best return on your money!

Like everyone here the tailgate handle on my 05 Tundra Limited Double Cab has fallen apart after 15 amazing years of working together! I started looking online for a genuine pen and was shocked to see how much they cost online and at the retailer. After a long search for Revain I decided to do this and I'm glad I did. It only took me about 10 minutes to remove the old handle and install the new one with my current locking mechanism. All you need is a T30 Torx bit, a 10mm socket, a small…

easy to install for trim

I installed this tailgate handle on a 2004 double cab Tundra. to remove the fender trim with the tailgate down. Once the tray is removed, you can access the handle by removing the pad and metal cover. Loosen the two 10mm screws holding the tailgate handle. If you decide to use a key lock, all you have to do is remove the retaining clip that holds the lock in place. Once the clip is removed, the key lock can be removed from the housing and inserted into the handle, then re-secured using the…
