I was very happy with the overall quality of this holder but the bottom compartments are too small for thinner pens such as pens for brushes, pencils, pens, etc. When you insert a pen, brush, etc. etc ., its underside is not aligned with the compartment opening directly below, and you need to spend extra time to find the right place. They match my off-brand copics perfectly, and the tiered nature of the shelves makes it easy to find what you need. However, I wanted horizontal storage.
