Used youtube video on fitting - easy to get seat belt and this adapter fits like a glove. Check the fuses to make sure there is one in the tow hitch plug and there may be power being supplied to the wiring harness. I've seen some people mention problems. I didn't have one, and the fuse was already there.

With my 2017 F-150, I was torn between using my trusty Tekonsha and buying the original brake controller that's built into the dash. As soon as I saw the opportunity to install an OEM product, it wasn't difficult for me to choose Tekonsha. I ordered the wiring adapter here for a cent, screwed it to the back of the Tekonshi, and it only took me 10 minutes to install it. I love that I can take it out (although I never do) and forget it's there. Really great solution.

I bought this adapter so I didn't have to connect the pigtail that came with my truck to the fitting that came with the brake controller. I disassembled part of the dash and routed a wire from the back to the connector for a nice and tidy installation. The adapter was long enough to fit easily and with enough headroom for me to pull the brake controls out of the slot to detach and store in the glove box when not in use.
