Easy to install, easy to set up, easy to use.

We are "beginners" when it comes to electric trailer brakes and were completely clueless when it came to brake control units. After watching videos about this product and reading other reviews we went with it because it looked like it would be easy to set up and not too expensive. Well, our assumptions turned out to be correct. We had no trouble installing and setting up our vintage camper trailer mated to our Ford F-150. Our RV weighs only 1,600 pounds and we even considered not using RV…

This was very easy to install on my 2000 Ford F250 Super Duty with a factory 7 pin connector. It already had wires under the dash, I connected the 3035-P wire harness on each side and completed the installation in the truck after screwing the mounting bracket into place with the screws provided. Firstly I don't like the brake controls which are just a button built into the dash. I don't like missing out on a power outlet or dash storage to install something like this. That brings me to Tekonsha. He had great reviews and I went with him. Installation was easy, but I wish they included something other than those pesky flathead screws. Rschunimagu. The connection was fully wired to their Jeep wiring harness which I purchased separately. Everything works great and seems to match up well…

Lots of pros and cons

Replaced a 20 year old Tekonsha with a new Primus this summer. I wasn't sure if the old one had enough power to brake my new trailer. Installation was very easy. I bought a wire harness for a few dollars that connected one end to the truck board and the other end to the new controller. I screwed in a new clip, snapped the new controller into the clip. Ready. This summer we drove about 3000 miles with the new controller. The Primus is easy to set up, especially compared to the old one where I…
