Description of Thermaltake Contac Silent 12 CPU cooler, black

Thermaltake Contac Silent 12 is a budget CPU cooler with excellent performance. It has a 120mm fan with PWM speed control, which allows the motherboard to set the rotation speed of the blades depending on the temperature on the processor. Contac Silent 12 supports all modern processor sockets from Intel and AMD, including AM4. Specially shaped blades Specially shaped double-wave blades help create powerful airflow with low noise levels. Ultra-quiet hydraulic bearing To minimize noise and maximize life, a high quality self lubricated hydraulic bearing is used. Special seals are used to prevent leakage of lubricating fluid. Highest Efficiency For the fastest possible heat dissipation, 4 pieces of copper heatpipes are in direct contact with the surface of the CPU cover. The diameter of each heat pipe is Ø6mm. Further, the heat is transferred to a set of aluminum plates 0.4 mm thick, spaced 2.2 mm apart. Quiet operation By using the LNC (Low-Noise Cable), the noise level is reduced by 24% and the number of revolutions is reduced by 27%. Fan Clips The fan is attached to the cooler using metal clips. This mounting method is reliable and easy to assemble. It does not create restrictions Contac Silent 12 does not interfere with the installation of RAM modules with high radiators, while also helping to improve the quality of their cooling. Versatility Due to the universal mounting method, Contac Silent 12 is compatible with all currently existing processor sockets from Intel and AMD, including AM4.

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

Different pros: Pretty quiet if at stock frequencies There is an extension cord for power supply (I did not need it, the length was enough) Pretty easy assembly Cons: Won't fit in small box You need to apply force to install on the socket, but this applies to all such mounts

The product is good, there are only a few minor flaws.

The exact article number of my Thermaltake Contac Silent 12 CL-P039-AL12BL-A In general, everything suits, I replaced the propeller with AC, and I'm satisfied. Got pros: Ergonomic: despite the terrible clamping system (whether it was wrong), I was able to install it without sprinkling the contents of the case with my blood. Its shape and dimensions allow you to install it almost without removing anything (I had to pull out the video card to put on the eyelet. One eyelet is with an emphasis, the

No complaints, I recommend to buy.

I bought it under Ryzen, so the rating is 4. The peculiarity of Ryzen is that the CPU die is narrow and rectangular and is located under the cover so that the tubes of this cooler run parallel, not across. Yes, Ryzen has solder and a lid, but it still turns out that there are only 2 tubes out of 4 above the CPU chip. Because of this, the 8-core 1700 under overclocking 3800 at 1.3 V in stress tests already gains temperature above comfortable in 1 minute (I think above 65 is no longer good)…

Pros
  • Price. Suitable for AMD AM4.
Cons
  • Heat pipes with "direct contact". Noisy fan. On Ryzen 8 nuclear 1700 and above, I would not recommend.

I did not regret the purchase, everything is fine.

Powerful tower cooler on 4 U heat pipes with direct contact technology, which is able to please processors with a package of up to 130 watts out of the box with silence and good cooling. With refinement, that is, with the installation of a second fan, or one, but faster, it will be able to cool the heat of a 150W stone. A good purchase for those who want to take the goods of such a well-known manufacturer as Thermaltake for a reasonable price. Suitable for those who do not trust any gammaxes…

Pros
  • - Affordable price for such a manufacturer - Direct tube contact, cool. - Good build quality and package (everything is smooth and neat) - Cable with 4pin connector with PWM support and braid. - Universal and suitable for AM4 out of the box. - The complete Carlson starts already from 500 rpm and works without sound, up to 1200 rpm, tolerably turns up to a maximum of 1500. - Can quietly cool the processor up to 130 watts, no matter what the specifications say.
Cons
  • - Fastening for Intel through a flimsy and dumb-looking adapter, like from a cheap deep cool. - The manufacturer declares the ability to cool 150W processors, but in reality already at 130+ on OCST, after 5 minutes, the temperature exceeds the allowable one. - Perhaps installing a faster and more productive or second fan will fix the problem.
