Happy I bought this!

So glad I bought this. I had an old computer (iMac G5) that died due to a motherboard failure. So the hard drive was fine. But I got frustrated when trying to get my information using an external app. There were compatibility issues. At the recommendation of someone on the Apple Community Help Forum, I decided to try this dock instead. After plugging it in and plugging it into my hard drive, I was able to access everything on that old hard drive. Wonderful. I've since used it to read and writeโ€ฆ

Failed and failed! - Hard Drive Accessories

I should have listened to the negative feedback. The first (model C) failed within 4 months. I bought another (model D) and it failed after a few days. In either case, it stops responding, disconnects from the network, and shuts down. This involves a backup of maybe 1 in 10 attempts. They corrupted disks, didn't format them, did raw. data loss. I tried to fill out an RMA online at Thermaltake but got no response. Interestingly, I've had a few USB 2.0 models that have worked great for 5-10 years

  • Consistent test results

Used twice and failed

This docking station was purchased in December 2017, used twice for backups and then sat on a shelf until September 2018 because I installed two NAS and used them for automatic backups. . In September 2018, this docking station was set up to recover all data from a hard drive that was removed from a laptop onto a new, larger hard drive installed in the same laptop. The docking station failed immediately after pressing the power button. So two uses in the first week of ownership and a completeโ€ฆ

Problem solved! in hard disk housings

The perfect solution to my problem. I recently switched from a troubled Windows desktop PC to a new Mac laptop. for sale but the system wasn't working properly and I didn't get a chance to erase HD first: Western Digital 1TB SATA box. (At the time, I was also planning on getting rid of the drive, but didn't want to give up my data.) And as a result, I was stuck with a drive I couldn't access. Can I do something about it? ? I contacted a tech savvy friend. And enter BlackX from Thermaltake. Theโ€ฆ

Unreliable. caused file corruption.

(For dual USB version). Died about six weeks later, just outside of Revain's 30-day return policy. The "manufacturer guarantee by Revain" was that Revain would provide me with Thermaltake's contact details and offer to mediate if anything went wrong. So I contacted Thermaltake and they sent a replacement (note: cross-shipping requires you to pay first and then get a refund; there is no grace period). The replacement dock worked for about five weeks and then failed as well. With both docks, theโ€ฆ

Bought a few and am very happy with them

I have 2 of this model and 2 of the older version (Thermaltake BlacX Duet 5G ST0022U). 3 are connected to my iMac at the same time. The other is on a Windows 10 NUC. The older version had some difficulties when using different size and/or brand hard drives on the same dock. So far I haven't had this problem with this new version. I have 1TB to 14TB WD Red hard drives from WD and Seagate. One complaint is that removing a hard drive is usually done with two hands. When you press the slide buttonโ€ฆ

Fails when you need it most, Thermaltake quality drops

This unit seemed perfect at the time my motherboard died and I needed to get my files working on two separate drives. Setup was easy, Windows recognized both hard drives right away, and the device was used with a laptop with limited hard drive space until a replacement desktop came along, or that was the plan. At a very important moment when it was needed, this device let me down. Although it worked fine for less than 2 months with no errors or read/write issues, it didn't turn on when I needed
