Thundershirt Waterproof Outerwear Raincoat Review

I love this coat and so does my dog Elvis. It fits very well and is easy to put on. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it has black dots that are beneath the surface.

I ordered the X-Small for my 6 lb dog and it fits quite oddly. The hood is very high and stands straight. The body is very loose and rigid, even if it is attached with velcro as much as possible. And if you close the velcro too tight around the neck, the hood will cover the dog's face and not be visible! Doesn't fit like in the picture. I'll give him some time to maybe break down a bit.

My Schnauzer weighs about 22 pounds and hates the rain like lava from the sky. She would have resisted and fought wholeheartedly not to go outside even if I had had a giant golf umbrella. With the raincoat on, even when the monsoon comes, she has found the courage to go for long runs/walks, as has been the case for the past few days. Make sure you have a harness, not a regular collar, and plenty of treats and praise when you first put it on.

Bought an XS for our Havana cat, she is a little smaller than most and the coat fits perfectly. The quality of materials and workmanship is perfect and it is easy to put on with Velcro fasteners. We have the original Thundershirt and it works great so I decided to pair it with a raincoat to give my dog the same reassurance when he goes for a walk outside. Unfortunately, the average height is too large (he weighs 25 pounds, with large breasts). Most customer reviews seem to indicate sizing issues. I also. I have the original Thundershirt and the neck and chest have plenty of room to maneuver thanks to the generous velcro so I decided to size by length. I had to search another Thundershirt website to measure the length of the cape. According to this site, the XS is 14-16 inches long. The size is strange. We have a King Charles Spaniel. It's at the top of men's sizing. He was a champion, I saved him from that horrible life, spoiled him, and now he weighs about 23 pounds. I was looking for a good raincoat made from waterproof, soft material with no fleece inside. It was close, but if you look at the picture, Kona (my puggle) weighs about 25 pounds. This raincoat arrived today and I was pleased with the large velcro flap and the way it covers the long chest hair on the sides and keeps out rainwater. The front flap doesn't cover the front chest hair that much, but it certainly doesn't get in the way. I ordered an XL size for my Irish Setter but found it was not long enough in the back.
