Type of review

Rated 3 stars due to poor workmanship. The product is a typical "Made in China" product. It meets X thickness x width x length X specification with two handles. Yes, it's a jackknife. More precisely, it is an object in the form of a jackknife. I tested the steel with a spark on a grinder and it turned out to be of good quality. The blade is sharpened very roughly. Make sure you have a way to clamp the blade, some good files, sandpaper, rough and fine stone, a sling, and a few hours to sharpen…

Not bad at all for gentlemen

I read some reviews on this folding knife and thought I needed a bit of work to make it do what I wanted. no handles, but they go pretty easy. There's no blade guard, so you'll need to be a bit careful about storing it in a blind-grab toolbox. It's not razor sharp, but it definitely has an edge. When used on green wood, this thing strips the bark easily. I use it in combination with a spoke shaving bench which is easy to build and I highly recommend. On green maple, this thing is easy to use…

Pros
  • As everything before
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

I was a bit skeptical about how well any of these would work. I was even more skeptical considering this is on the cheaper side of what's available out there. Now I have used it exclusively as an amateur archer, but it has exceeded all my expectations. Once you get used to it, you'll find that there's quite a range of versatility. You'll find different angles and pressure levels that you can apply to remove exactly the amount of wood you want to remove. You can also use it "in reverse" as a…

perfect for the price

This is a great razor for the price but you should expect to get what you pay for. It is noteworthy that the edge of the blade needs to be sharpened right out of the box. Maybe it cut, but it was ugly. Obviously sharpened on the machine, the maker didn't devote much time and attention to giving the blade a perfect edge. At this price point (and given other reviews) I fully expected to spend an hour on my set of diamond stones to get a high shine finish. And I did, and now the blade is worth…

Feel like a lumberjack

I was afraid to buy because of negative reviews but I have nothing but good things to say about this knife. I used it to peel a few tree trunks and the bark came off like butter. (Pine logs) Equally important when using this knife is how quickly you remove the bark from the moment you cut the tree. If you do it in the same day, everything will be easier. And if you first tap it with a hammer, everything will become even easier. The knife is strong, the blade is sharp and easy to sharpen if…
