Description of TOGGLER SnapSkru Self Drilling Glass Filled Fastener Fasteners in Anchors

Self-drilling anchor installs into 3/8"- to 5/8"-thick drywall ceilings and walls without requiring a predrilled hole. Glass-filled nylon body has jaws that open to provide a firm vibration- and shock-resistant hold when a screw is inserted. Made in USA, and includes #8 x 1-3/4" screws. Ultimate tensile strength is 79 lb. in 1/2" drywall with a #8 x 1-1/2" screw. Use one-fourth or less of listed maximum values for safe working loads (as required by local regulations).

Useless Anchors, Promotes False Claims

Based on my experience, these fasteners are a complete waste of money. Despite being marketed as self-drilling, they fail to effectively grip the wall resulting in weak and unstable anchors .The only upside is that the packaging looks flashy and professional. However, the negatives far outweigh any potential positives. these anchors are simply not worth the investment..

Pros
  • Easy to install with no pre-drilling necessary
Cons
  • Requires a specific tool to set the anchor, which may be inconvenient or difficult to obtain

NOT self-drilling as advertised, otherwise good anchor

These are good anchors if you have drill bits. The head will come off before they actually pierce each other. Pre-drilling is recommended for all drywall. Otherwise they do fine once you pre-drill the right size, but I had to take a handful off before I stopped trying to drill myself.

Pros
  • Glass-filled nylon body has jaws that open to provide a secure, vibration and shock resistant grip when screw is inserted
Cons
  • Quick guide
