Trailer Indicator Waterproof Surface Installation Review

The product was good - not as bright as the old ones but worked well. I take a swipe at the brightness to reduce the amount of current that has been affecting my system as a whole. There could have been a better grounding mechanism. My system used the mounting holes for the ground, this system only had two wires so I had to devise a reliable method to connect to the mounting screw for the ground. Overall - worked well and solved my problem.

These lights have a separate base that you attach to your car and then drill 2 small wire sized holes (or one large). ) and pass the wires through. The lights are a sealed unit that simply snaps onto the base. Lenses no longer fall off or break because they are thin. These lamps should easily last for many years. Very light and looks clean. I would highly recommend them if you are looking to replace/upgrade your current lights. They draw fewer amps when running and look great!

Looks good. But I had to stop and figure out how the light connects to the back panel. Understand as there were no instructions. My biggest complaint was with button head screws. Wood screws don't work well in metal. I had about 10-24 machine screws, I just drilled and tapped. This worked great so I clamped the ring clamp to the ground and grounded it right next to the mounting hole. Overall a good buy but you may need to improvise for your work.

The included screws are rubbish and won't work with every galvanized trailer let alone sheet metal. No big deal, just use my own screws or self tapping screws. no The design of the mount for the lighting is rubbish and doesn't allow the use of screws of any kind, even with the slightest head. The schematic is rubbish too. The lights are just a total disappointment and they were not designed for a boat trailer despite being advertised as such.

The mounting bracket has countersunk holes but the screws provided are pan head. So they don't sit flat. Why post such a discrepancy. The propellers are junk and when I screw them into my steel boat trailer they come apart. The cables are very short, they reach to the wiring harness. The ground must be connected directly to the trailer as the standard wiring harness does not have a ground leading to the front. Knowing this, they should have provided a grounding lug on the frame. Nice blocks but installation was a chore. My trailer frame is steel and I had to ground the black wire (the only hot wire that powers my trailer) under the light to one of the mounting bolts as ground. The mounting screws are soft and the heads are heavily deburred, so I had to use heavier gauge self-tapping screws to drill holes and then install the factory screws. I ordered this lamp for my small utility trailer. I tried it before installing it and it's pretty bright! Much more than I need for a side marker light. It even looks good locked.
