So far so good, fingers crossed; I prefer not to preset the IP.

Bought this print server to replace an old print server that is no longer working. I used to have a Linksys print server which was very annoying to set up, and then Tritton (now discontinued). I liked Tritton especially for its ease of use, setup and full configuration via a web browser by IP address. My internal domain is 192.168.1.x by default while TrendNet was set to 192.168.0.x which required an install. cd and manually change the IP number to 192.168.1.xx (or you can fully configure DHCP…

This works for my HP Photosmart C4280

I have an HP Photosmart C4280 that I wanted to use on my network with a wireless HP Vista laptop and desktop connected directly to a hub via a Cat 5 cable connected everything worked for two hours. Both the laptop and desktop installation did not follow Trendnet's procedures. You need to use the local laptop printer's TCP/IP connection, and you need to tell the connection to see a 1-port shared print server (from the Microsoft dropdown). The desktop was configured as a U1 port on the network…

Very easy to set up.

The key to the easy setup of this unit is the included CD. Make sure there is no other device on 192.168.1.1 (e.g. a firewall - if there is a device on that address, just temporarily disconnect it from the network and later assign the print server a static address, e.g 1.40) and insert the CD. You don't have to install anything, if you don't want to start the wizard from the CD. Connect the printer to the device and connect the server to your network. Turn on the printer and the server. Run the

Trendnet 1 Port Print

This was probably one of the best and easiest print servers I have ever used. It was easy install, simple instructions. After unboxing, the packaging was intact and what was shown on the website. All connections were quick and easy. The router used Netgear N300, Brother MFC 240C printer. The default IP address wasn't part of my router scheme, its default value is 192.168.0.1 (I always change the router scheme, but I got lazy and just use the built-in private, I always change the routers to…

Don't buy this! - Networking Products

I have an HP 1020 Laserjet printer and it is listed as compatible so I gave it a try. Well after spending a few hours trying to get this to work I finally gave up and got it back. I was able to see it on my network and install all the apps without any problems, but my printer status always showed offline and after further research I found that my printer is not compatible because it is not a "HOST" type printer. I emailed trendnet support and never got a reply, okay? I think you get what you…
