Not bad for external components

Pros: - USB hub: seems to work fine. - Video: Works fine up to 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz (higher frame rates not tested) - Audio: Doesn't introduce noise into the audio stream Cons: - Video: - Doesn't simulate monitors that are still present when assumed when switching devices becomes that the monitors were disabled - When switching back to the computer, the computer sometimes does not register all monitors correctly, this is usually fixed by additional switching - Audio: - Acts as a high-pass…

works after booting the computer

I have two HP laptops with DisplayPort. With the TRENDnet KVM switch I get a resolution of 3840 x 2160 (4k) at 59 Hz and 8 bits. That's cool! PROBLEM: Laptops take a long time to boot up, if at all. SOLUTION: Disconnect the TRENDnet KVM power cable for about the first 30 seconds of bootup and then reconnect it. Now I get a quick boot every time I think of turning off KVM first. I only gave two stars because I didn't have to experiment to get KVM working. The same two HP laptops will work fine…

I bought this product to manage 4 computers and it works fine until the computer you selected goes to sleep. If the computer is in sleep mode and you touch the mouse, the computer wakes up, but then neither the keyboard nor the mouse work unless you restart the device and enable the USB connection for the keyboard. What I also don't like is that you can't turn off the device when not in use, unless you unplug the power cord on the back or plug it into a switched power supply. I wrote an email…

KVM sucks. This pretty good

I've been looking for my dream KVM switch for a long time. It had to drive two monitors at 4k60hz (tough task) and have a USB hub (I use a DAC over USB to switch audio). This one fits the bill and does it pretty well. I wanted it to spoof connected monitors to speed up switching. I wish it didn't crash sometimes and monitors don't have to be cycled on and off to connect. But, you know what? After a year with the thing I'm satisfied. This is still the best KVM switch available (IMO) if you need…

For those with gaming needs

I used it to split my Dell G-Sync monitor, Razer USB headset, keyboard and mouse between gaming PC and MacBook. I can confirm it supports G-Sync 2560 x 1440 @ 144Hz You are using the mouse port to connect the mouse, the dpi and mouse movement will NOT be what you expect. However, if you use 2 other USB ports (2 not for keyboard and mouse) it works fine. The reason I'm bringing it back is sometimes (quite often actually) if you switch your USB device back and forth it might stop working…
