I have two HP laptops with DisplayPort. With the TRENDnet KVM switch I get a resolution of 3840 x 2160 (4k) at 59 Hz and 8 bits. That's cool! PROBLEM: Laptops take a long time to boot up, if at all. SOLUTION: Disconnect the TRENDnet KVM power cable for about the first 30 seconds of bootup and then reconnect it. Now I get a quick boot every time I think of turning off KVM first. I only gave two stars because I didn't have to experiment to get KVM working. The same two HP laptops will work fine with other non-4k KVM switches, including one from TRENDnet and one from StarTech.
