The mouse will not work with this KVM switch if both computers have no power at the same time. I turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the back of the computer when not in use. Switch works as advertised, keyboard and mouse switch perfectly between systems but does not support video presence on disabled monitor. I use 3 monitors connected to 2 PCs each, I use the 3rd as a second monitor between the 2 PCs so each PC works in dual monitor mode. these are decent when they work, i had one that stubbornly refused to work properly so i returned it and got a replacement (the return process was pretty painless). I use them in a dual monitor configuration to switch between docking my work laptop and my PC. The problem with these is that they don't work well unless both DVI ports are connected to a graphics card.
