Easy to set up and use.

Much better than I thought. Don't know about durability but it's super shiny and has smooth edges, someone took some time to smooth the edges. The locks are easy to use and fit well. The hardest part is connecting or screwing the balls together, this requires 250lbs of torque as instructed. I had to borrow a torque wrench from my mechanic, but it wasn't difficult. I would buy again and I can recommend.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

very disappointed with both the product and the company

Very very disappointed with the product and the company. After several hundred miles of hauling light loads (3,000 pounds maximum), the ball that served as the nut twisted into an oval shape and got stuck in rural Ohio, about 200 miles from home. The trailer went down at 65mph and crashed into the rear of my Platinum F350. The company didn't work for me. There are absolutely no parts to assemble this hitch unless you buy them from the manufacturer and they are SLOW! Stay away. There are otherโ€ฆ

Looks very beautiful after installation

Looks very beautiful after installation, looks good. Came back from 1 year, the aluminum is too soft, the lock washer even left a 1/16 inch offset. Second, if you have to remove the balls to insert 1 7/8, the balls look awful because of the notch. 3. Problem, after you put it back together, say 2 weeks later, you want to adjust it, it already got scared and rubbed the rod badly where it was originally installed. The rating for this item is very good, but I have yet to figure out why it has theโ€ฆ

Quality and workmanship are excellent. Highly polished is as good as you.

I bought this to replace an 85 lb steel multi ball hitch. Some reviews question durability. I am a machinist and this product is made from solid billets of hardened aircraft grade aluminum and extrusion. Every time you step on a plane, you trust this stuff with your life. Quality and workmanship are excellent. The polished mirror finish is so beautiful you'll almost hate using it. It's proudly made in the USA. He has 10,000/lb. rating, and while I like to stay within the carrying capacityโ€ฆ

Trimax adjustable aluminum hitch

This is a very good hitch. Very durable and easy to use. I needed a hitch that I could use as a lowering hitch or as a top hitch. The only problem I had as a lift hitch was cleaning my bumper for adjustment so I added an extension and an extra lock like the one that came with the hitch and the problem was solved and everything worked great. The dueling coupling balls are just as easy to change as the height, with a simple turn of a key, the adjustment is very quick. I am very happy with thisโ€ฆ

Do not buy this if you plan to tow a trailer

The polished finish looks great but that's about it. It's incorrectly labeled as a description on Revain, the TriMax website, and the packaging says the tongue weighs 1500 pounds, but the actual product says 1000 pounds. It's a loose fit in the receiver (loose than most) and the adjustment slide is also too loose. The "security screw" holding it together had snapped off and the threaded hole it fits in was so rusty I couldn't even clean it with a pipe cleaner and air compressor. A heavy drawbar

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Not automatic

It took 3 times to get it right!

Good product. When I received a good product for the first time. The first one I received had signs of wear on the balls and also marks as if it had been previously installed. It also had rust, or what appeared to be rust, inside the safety bolt hole. Which is very important as it made it impossible to screw in the locking screw. So I changed it. The second had the same rust or something else in the screw hole. So I swapped it again. Guess what. Same again. Like they kept those thingsโ€ฆ

2016 BMW X3 bumper protector!

My 2016 BMW X3 is not compatible with the bumper guard (the type that attaches to the chassis rails that connect the bumper to the car). An alternative is to install a hitch that is much stronger than the chassis spars and then put in a typical hitch mounted guard/step (see photo). The drawbar I chose has a 2" x 2" receiver. The problem with this approach to the X3 is that the hitch is set very low. As a result, the bumper mounted on the tow bar is completely lower than the height of the bumper

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Good but not great
