Poor quality but not cheap

Overall the item was lighter than I thought due to the cheap wood used as the base. That was actually good because what interested me the most was being able to cut straight leaves. Unfortunately, this paper cutter doesn't do that at all. The guide that is designed to hold the paper in place will ultimately be cut by the blade since both the blade and the guide are not straight. The blade is tilted to the left I believe because it is held to the left with force in the locked position. The guide

Strange, no blade. Just a 1/4 inch rod.

I was expecting a real paper cutter with a blade. This item has no blade at all. Instead it has a 1/4 inch metal rod that cuts or slices as it is lowered. I thought I might be missing a blade, but looking back at the photos in the listing found it was the same thing, just a thick metal bar. I wasn't expecting much when I discovered this, but I tried a few things before deciding. I can easily and evenly cut chipboard and cardboard, as well as a sheet of paper. I'm a little shocked by this…

Made in China, Nuff said.

The legs are made of hard plastic, not soft rubber, so they slide all over the table. The board uses the same built-in cutting angle as the larger scissors. The alignment ruler is very thin and is not attached to the board or blocked in any way. The paper clip attached to the cutter arm should reach every 18 inches, but it only cuts 11 inches of paper. The HANDLE is not attached and you SHOULD NOT squeeze it fully into your hand as the hand will then cut no further than 16.5 inches and snap…

Pros
  • Scissors and paper blades
Cons
  • Small parts
