Tube Bender Kit Refrigeration Ratcheting Tubing Benders Hand Tool 1/4 To 7/8 Inch Aluminium Alloy Replacement Head Review

I used this kit for an AC install on copper tubing. It works well if you have an open work area where you can manipulate the tubing but in a confined space the tubing springs back so it doesn't catch the ratchet and becomes difficult to use. If you're going into a confined space or using more frequently I'd recommend spending a little more on a hydraulic unit. I'll probably use this tool very rarely and the cost benefit was a good fit for my needs.

Overall works, even bends 7/8 water pipe type LSometimes very hard to remove from already bent pipe, very poor quality of transportation case, all heads always flying inside.

This does the job and is a copy of the yellow jacket one. The one thing that it is really missing though are the bend marks on the shoes. Each one should have two marks on it where you line up your measurement so that when you bend the tubing to a 90, you have the bend exactly where you need it. If you just put the measurement in the center, because it wraps around the shoe, it will end up being short or long depending on how you have it setup, etc. You can see in the photo the marks from the…

I use this tool three times. 1st bend was 3/4 copper coming down the outside wall, worked great but when pulled apart noticed that it had a small crack in back side, Didn't look that bad, second bend on same pipe the center piece cracked down the middle and the 3/4 pipe kinked. Thought maybe just defect and was going to exchange it. 2days later used 7/8 to bend piece to repipe compressor and could not get the pipe out of the center piece, thought I was going to break it to separate them, the…

Broke my my first use. Second bend 7/8” copper. Anealed even copper. Severely not impressed. Wish I could get my money back. Worst purchase. :(

I was able to use this for a few tighter bends but ended up only using it for 2 as removing the actually bending jig was a real pain following the completion of the bend. I actually had to tap it back with a hammer and was afraid I was going to smack the soft copper tubing I was bending. It appears that the plastic/resin jig snags on the frame about 1/2 way through the ratcheting stroke and then is very difficult to get to return when released and requires you to tap it back.

Very aesthetic look, design well. I like this tool so much. It has detailed instruction. I tried the some common sizes, all worked perfect well without damaged the tubing. Easy to use, excellent quality and really cheap price. It worth every penny you paid. I used it almost everyday, no damage so far. Just save your money now, you can get what you want. This is a piece of crap, not made well, DO NOT PURCHASE, unfortunately I didn't discover this until after the return time was over. I will not purchase from this company again.

Made accurate bends, but was a little tough to get off the bent pipe. Tried lubing before hand and it still would get stuck.Did the job, but is slightly frustrating.

Not a bad kit, but it won’t bend bigger than 1/2” without flattening out the bend. I tried many different tricks, but didn’t change.

Dies are cheap plastic. Broke 5/8 one after 5 bends on soft copper tubing, not repairable. When it worked, was a fair tool. Do not recommend.

This bender works well and is less than half the price of the "brand name" unit but some of the pivot covers were falling off. Hope that the tool holds up.

It’s not a bad tool, however the design is t great. After you bend your tubing you then have to fight the tool and tubing just to get the tool removed. Other than that it’s good so far. Just a real pain to use.

Kinks Copper ACR tubing to the point you are better off just bending by hand. 3/8" tubing dented at the center of the bend with one pump and got worse the more you went. 3/4" tubing was ok up to about 30*, and then kinked. To get more then 30* you had to bend it in several locations or it killed the tube.

WE TRIED TO USE THIS ON A SPLIT UNIT HEAT PUMP 3/8 LINE ----THE COPPER QUALITY WAS SO POOR THIS WOULD NOT BEND IT WITHOUT KINKING---WE RESORTED TO USING SPRINGS !

Garbage kept getting stuck on the pipe after making a 90 degree bend. The arm wouldn’t retract back After making a bend and everything was just stuck there. Don’t waste your money just buy a yellow jacket like a professional.

This product immediately broke on me within the first bend. Didn't even get through 15 degrees and the ratchet broke. I am returning this item right away. DO NOT BUY

For the bigger tubing that wants to kink, this is a must especially when you are in unavoidable tight places Thanks for attention.

Have used quite a few times since I've got it, works good. The heads do get stuck on the pipe sometimes, just like the description says. Would have got 5 stars but sometimes the ratchet is hard to retract.
