Super easy to use. It only takes a few minutes. The downside is that there are no real instructions, so just watch the short video linked to this product page and you should be able to do it without any problems. Really changes the way your needle moves in the grooves. Reduces groove wear, improves sound reproduction from start to finish and should extend stylus and record life.

After looking at this item I returned it for a refund. The hole for the center spindle is heavily offset, which can cause the cartridges to move a lot. Since I'd rather not damage my records, I won't even try this thing. Given that the whole purpose of this thing is to align cartridges, this is totally unacceptable. Save money and hassle and just print out the alignment tool instead.

I bought these two years ago and ended up buying some new shells to fit some old cartridges. My god, it's so hard to see where to put the pen. The mirror does absolutely nothing but makes it difficult to read. I used a flashlight to find a place to put the pin. I'll put a white or red dot on the pin dots to help. If it doesn't work, it goes in the trash and I buy another one that actually works. After 20 minutes one of the cartridges was half-aligned and the sound was fine.

I was lucky enough to assemble perfectly, but everything was perfect during calibration. It's not a tool you'll be using every day or once a week, but if you're making turntable capsules and want to get it right, I recommend it for the sake of your recording needles and grooves. As usual, my reviews are long. I'm so pissed I waited a year to get this! I had no idea how wrong my cartridge was on my new Audio-Technical AT-LP120 USB. This tool is indispensable. I previously bought a Hudson Hi-Fi protractor but had to return it because the hole was too small to fit my spindle. I couldn't believe that a tool designed to be perfectly centered couldn't fit on the spindle. That's the irony of fate. I turned them down because I thought they were a waste of money. I was wrong…
