Great for small to medium sized birds

My father has had a smaller cockatoo for over 20 years and developed a bad habit of spitting his food out of his round bowl which made a big mess and was wasteful. After my dad died, I took Bart in and quickly switched to this acrylic box. At first he wasn't a fan as most birds don't really like environmental changes, but after one day he was curious enough and hungry to try it. WORTH EVERY PENNY! Much less waste, and that gives him the opportunity to "root" in the bin. This particular crate is

Some useful things I learned

I love these boxes, they give my bird extra space in the cage and allow him to see more while eating. Easy to clean and very neat. Since they are there, your bird can take them off very easily. I found a solution she can't touch yet. Take two pear shaped clips or quick release buckles and hang them on the bars, take the hooks and thread them through the rings so the hooks are on the outside of the cage, secure with a zip tie. It's funny to see them try to bring it down but they can't. They mayโ€ฆ

Great product but design would be nice

Bought my first one in June. I've been using it every day for about 3 months now. Great idea for a product but it needs work. I have an Eclectus parrot that needs fresh food daily so fruit/vegetable juices are included in his diet. Birds tend to eat dirty, so this is a great product for catching food that they spill or scratch with their beaks. This product is very difficult to clean between crevices. I have to use a thin knife and paper towel to clean up the edges and it gets tiring whenโ€ฆ

  • Not bad

My 8 year old Caique has a bad habit of eating like a human. He will pick up a scratching post with food in his foot, dropping 90% of the food and actually eating maybe half the pellet. He ran out of food less than an hour after I fed him and I'm so sick of the waste. I installed this feeder in his cage and the problem was gone overnight! It's easy to install (assuming it fits in your cage door) as it comes fully assembled, although the barebones hooks leave something to be desired in terms ofโ€ฆ

Good idea, needs revising

Got 2 of these for my Gray and my Revane. They are dirty and waste a lot of food. One of the feeders had a piece broken off so I sent it back. The other one had a torn seam, so Krazy taped it up. I first tried the rest on my Gray but it's really freaky and didn't go well with it for 2 days. Then I put it in my Revane's cage. She is more adventurous and immediately started chewing on the pole. I took out the feeder and wrapped the whole pole in duct tape. In the meantime I ordered anotherโ€ฆ

My African Gray Congo loves it!

My gray parrot LULU LOVES to see the world through a transparent window, not through the bars of a cage. She sits there and sometimes nibbles for hours just because she obviously likes the view. I was worried that it wouldn't fit and that it would be too small for her based on the description, but I assure you that there is even room for her and she is a normal size Grey. I wish I had this long ago, the only suggestion I would have would be to have more options to connect it to the cage because
